5. Mehrangarh Fort & Palaces, Jodhpur
Looming 400 feet above Jodhpur's blue city, Mehrangarh Fort is one of India's largest and best-preserved fortresses. 6. Rambagh Palace, Jaipur

8. Jai Mahal Palace, Jaipur
Set in 18 acres of Mughal gardens in the heart of Jaipur, Jai Mahal Palace was built in 1745 for the Prime Minister of Jaipur. The Taj Hotels group manages it today as one of Rajasthan's grandest heritage properties, with rooms overlooking manicured lawns, fountains and ancient trees.
9. Laxmi Niwas Palace, Bikaner
Designed by British architect Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob and built in 1902 for Maharaja Ganga Singh, Laxmi Niwas Palace combines Indo-Saracenic, Mughal and European Renaissance elements. Its red sandstone facade is intricately carved with hunting scenes, floral patterns and mythological figures. The palace feels beautifully frozen in time.
10. Sardar Samand Palace, Pali
This 1930s art deco hunting lodge sits beside the Sardar Samand Lake, a winter home to migratory birds including flamingos and pelicans. Its whitewashed geometric facade, original furnishings and crocodile-filled lake make it one of Rajasthan's most atmospheric — and least visited — heritage escapes.
